Rolling Water Drum Distribution Initiative
With support from Rotary Club Nigdi, Kelkar Auto Parts Pune, Mercedes-Benz, Morde Foods Manchar, ARAI Pune, and Shashwat Organization, 500 tribal families in Khed and Ambegaon talukas received rolling water drums. The initiative aimed to reduce the burden of water collection on women who traditionally walked long distances carrying heavy pots. The rolling drums made water transportation easier, saving time and reducing physical strain. Beneficiary women reported improved convenience, better health, and more time for household, farming, and childcare activities. The project provided a practical, sustainable, and dignified solution to a long-standing challenge in tribal communities.
